Houses are longstanding houses of Mages. There are countless houses of mages throughout the world. Each specializing in their own field of magic, and having their own traditions and abilities, but one thing remains constant. The head of each houses possesses the houses magic crest.

A House Crest is a series of Magic Circuits that were given a more stable form in order to act as an archive of spells. At some point of the magus’ life, he will forge some of his own Magic Circuits into the Crest, store many, if not all, spells that he learned in life and then pass it down to his successor. As the process repeats itself with each new generation, the older a lineage is, the greater the number of Circuits forming the Crest, and the greater the amount of knowledge stored inside it. It is the duty of any heir of a family of magi to successfully expand and pass down the Crest to the next generation.

All houses Gain A single Magic Crest which is possessed by the head of their house. When passed from one house head to their successor will gain knowledge of all the spells that the previous user had.  The mysteries of magic are too much for one person to uncover it all during their life time, but a longstanding house could accumulate plenty of knowledge over the generations.

Beyond that each house possesses their own type of magic that they specialize in, House mages can learn spells from this branch of magic as well as their original field of Study.

It's possible for players to create their own house, however to do this they have to have enough money to actually support this pursuit, as well as knowledge of how to create a family crest in the first place.

The Template For building a House is as follows.

House Name The Name of your House of Mages
Background What's their history?

Homeland In what country are they currently based?

Bloodline Do they study a specific field of magic, and if so what trait have they gained that makes them unique among mages. (A house specializing in fire magic, may be able to transform themselves into fire!)

Family Curse You don't go messing around with arcane spells without something going wrong. What costs does your family pay for their power? (Our Fire Mages may be so intuned with their fire nature that they can't swim. Or they glow at night!)
